Born in Switzerland in 1937, Hans Mauli studied graphic design. He worked in Aarau, Coponhagen, London, Paris and New York. In the late sexties he worked for the celebrated Herb Lubain in New York and for the advertising agency Young & Rubicam in Paris. Though graphic design was his profession, he had always wanted to be a photographer.
