This is a big day for the freedom loving people of California as the 10 day waiting period for firearms has been ruled unconstitutional.

The slow roll of Heller keeps on keeping on. Too bad CA makes new laws faster than the courts can smack them down.

This is my favorite part: Under the court order, the California Department of Justice (DOJ) must change its systems to accommodate the unobstructed release of guns to gun buyers who pass a background check and possess a California license to carry a handgun, or who hold a “Certificate of Eligibility” issued by the DOJ and already possess at least one firearm known to the state.

This is good news. I'm a California resident and think the 10 day wait is more than a little ridiculous. I'm curious if anyone knows the actual reasoning behind the waiting period? My first thought is to help reduce spontaneous suicides, but in that case 10 days seems excessive.
