Great Tip for Growing Tomatoes

The few times I have created "self-watering" systems for my tomatoes, they have always grown faster and better than any I have ever planted in the ground. But mine have always been self-watering systems contained in buckets. Here is away to use a bucket to water plants in the ground. Will have to try this out next year.

I know. Wish I would have found this earlier in the year. We moved to a new house in January so I don't have a garden this year but, like you, I may try this technique next year.
Another technique that tends to work well in the Arkansas climate is straw bale tomatoes. Have not tried that one yet either so maybe I will do both and see if one produces better than the other.
