With all the cooking that goes on in our household, we’re always stocking up on kitchen spices. Hungarian Paprika is an all-time favorite around here, given both Mary’s and my Hungarian heritage — it’s incorporated into all sorts of dishes including Hungarian goulash, chicken paprika, even as a way to add a spicy kick to kale chips. Old Bay is another one of our staples, going on or in everything from peel and eat shrimp, cheesy crab artichoke dip, to a Chesapeake style omelette. I guess you could say Hungarian Paprika and Old Bay seasoning would be the spices of choice if we could only pick two to survive on a deserted island with.
