Very true analysis. They also don't work (don't even begin to fit) for anyone with much musculature from the waist down... I'd rather suffer from dad pants than be able to wear "skinny slacks". Still, I liked the commercial.
Whats funny is that post Super Bowl, Bonobos tried to start a online petition to let them put their pants on Harbaugh. Guess Dockers won out but yes they used to be part of the problem and may still be

Nice. Could be worse though, could be mom jeans. My solution was to squat till the dad pants fit. Took a couple years but it's been quite effective.

That is a very real problem afflicting many, many men today. I'm not sure Dockers is the best cure but it is a step in the right direction.
