Not all music is poetry but Paul Simon's is.

Not all poetry is good poetry. Not all music is good music.
That being said, I would argue that most all music lyrics could be considered poetry at some level.
Not necessarily good poetry, but then again, consider this poem:
"There once was a man from Nantucket..."
All poetry does not have to be lofty and intellectual.
