Yeah I don't buy it. First you have the guy talking about how their companies tech will help save the world for moneys. Then you have the actual facts, like how internet in the US is 3 times more expensive, and 10 times slower than several other countries. How the US internet is artificially held back by the ISP's for profit. The only danger the internet is in is from the people blocking our ability to access and utilize it to its full potential.
Frankly if we do someday reach a point where we are overstretching the actual internets capabilities, not just for marketing purposes, then there will be a focus on making the information itself smaller. Thus negating the problems from the other end.
All stories like this do is attempt to justify increased costs from, mostly American, ISP's. Much like we hear on the news that oil prices are on the rise due to a tragic increase in toad farts somewhere in some place. People today are far too accepting of what they are told, and far to lazy to research the truth.
Everything I was going to say. I read the line “THE CABLE INDUSTRY SEEMS TO WELCOME CHALLENGE”, and all I could think was they welcome the charges that challenge brings.
