What sucks is that the fucks from California that move to better states tend to bring their politics with them and proceed to fuck up those states too, e.g. Texas/Colorado/etc.
Northern California needs to be able to become the state of Jefferson. I truly believe it will be different than from Sacramento on down. It is a growing movement and I hope it continues to gather momentum. California as it currently is, is an unmanageable mess and suffering from years of poor management.
Somehow the Central Valley needs to get out of there, too. It's a very rural area and while it was my territory I found it very much like my home area in the Midwest. Not at all like the two major population centers.
My stay here will be brief (slightly less than a year) but I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course I am not a resident and subject to the ridiculous tax burden. Growing up and living in the south and Midwest, I rarely heard anything positive about California, but my stay in the Yuba-Sutter area has been enjoyable and the people have been wonderful (for the most part). It was a very nice surprise. I hope the move to split the state into 6 parts will be successful. Parts of the state are awesome. I don't know what MO is like but I'm glad you are enjoying it there.
Like Toyota...I left California as well. Born and raised most of my life there, I moved to Redding in 1990 and left in 2013. State of Jefferson or whatever, California has to do something.
As to the f-ed up politics coming to Texas...nah. Most of the California refugees are pretty conservative and fled to Texas due to the fact that they were among like-minded people.

Yup, +1 on the like-minded thing. That's why I fled, er, escaped, er, sought political asylum in a different state.
