This jewelry box is made from a natural branch of Japanese cherry tree sakura wood harvested in Iwakuni, Japan. When closed it looks just like a branch and makes a beautiful natural decor piece with a rustic feel that will look great on your nightstand or dresser.

When open it features four generous chambers for your precious things, one deep chamber at the bottom and three smaller chambers perfect for rings and other jewelry. This piece is perfectly balanced and will stand with any or all of the drawers open.

The top and insides were treated with an all-natural oil and bee's wax finish that really brought out the beautiful dark spalting in the wood. By comparison, the bottom which remains untreated (not shown) is quite pale, and the finish really brought out the mottled black and gold natural beauty of the wood.

The hinges are loose enough to let each drawer swing freely, while a Japanese acorn adorns the top to cover the hinge orifice (note, the acorn was hollowed and filled with cherry wood sawdust to prevent rot), and a finishing nail keeps it in place.

This is a tall, rustic yet stately utility sculpture that will look great in your home and help organize your precious things.
