You don't need to, it's just the correct way to wear most shirts. Most men know this, unfortunately today's young men wear their pants around their knees and their shirts untucked.
Excepting that a proper man also goes about his day armed. In the Summer when it's hot, it's a lot easier to go untucked than to deal with a tuckable holster - at least for me, with a large framed pistol.

I would remove the underwear tuck because a man should always wear a t-shirt with a dress shirt. Nobody wants to see sweat stains. Ever.
Also always wear a belt with trousers. There's nothing goofier looking than a guy with a tucked-in shirt and no belt.
