Pointing to his work on gun safety, obesity and smoking cessation, he said with a grin: “I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close.”

Because God really respects those who try to control others? Seriously, I'd love to sit down with this guy, have an honest discussion, and find out what shapes his thought process. Bloomberg is fascinating in a really scary way.

I think you would find (provided he was honest) that he is simply a control freak. I don't think for a second that he actually "cares" about any of these issues. These issues are simply ways of grabbing/demonstrating power and control.

This chestnut keeps coming up again doesn't it? What is it about liberals and their belief that they know best and ought to dictate how everyone else ought to live?

Honestly, I think liberals simply want what they feel is best for people but then people Like Bloomberg/Obama come in and use these people to push through laws/policies that give them more power and control under the guise of whatever it is the liberals think is best. Take Healthcare for example, Obamacare is clearly a power grab, do you really think he gives two fucks about people's healthcare/improving heath-care? Hell no he doesn't, it's simple an avenue that plays to liberals heart-strings and people Like Obama/Bloomberg use those strings to again, grab more and more power.

Bloomberg and the top libs aren't stupid people. They totally get it. It's really all about the "narrative" for them and advancing their career.

And populist themes are, well, popular.

After debating whether or not to join the NRA, this article cinches it. Best $60 (2 year membership) I spent all week.

Thank you for signing on, Duane. Most people aren't going to agree with the NRA on everything (I don't), but it is the biggest, most effective association of millions of gun rights supporters (er, I mean 'the evil gun lobby') dedicated to protecting our civil rights.

How dare anybody degrade the genuineness of our left wing politicians! I am outraged that you would think that the party of the openminded has ulterior motives then just looking out after the poor and the people unable to think and act for themselves! These people are selfless caring looking for the greater good, OH, sorry! Please forgive me, I was lost in a star trek episode for a moment, I am now leaving the borg and entering reality.

Trying to figure out if I hit the like button means I agree? I agree with the comments posted not with the Bloomberg dictatorship.

By the way, the courts overturned the soft drink limit. At least there are some reasonable, down to earth judges.

I consider the 'stache button to be more of a 'thanks for posting' as opposed to an 'I like this content'. I've liked a lot of distasteful or horrible things on here because I appreciated the poster bringing it to my attention. Not trying to sway your 'staching decision, but Bloomberg qualifies as both distasteful AND horrible. ;-)
