Interesting. First, just to point out a few things. Will this be best at splitting wood in the US? Maybe. Notice that the guy is splitting wood that is very dry already and also in the frozen cold. This also contributes to why it is so easy to split the wood. The technique with using the old tire also makes it helpful. Not sure that this video helps me trade my Latvian John Neeman axe in. :-)

I agree, I see nothing really special about this axe other than the increased weight at the business end.
