Been using the dry mix for years. I use fels-naptha. One bar, one cup Borax, one cup washing soda. Put it in the food processor and make it a homogeneous powder.
My wife uses this recipe. Love it. Saves us probably a hundred bucks a year, smells great, and I believe it is high efficiency rated, which is great for our new laundry units. Awesome life hack.
