A California state senator, known for his gun control legislation, has been arrested on a host of charges including plotting to smuggle guns into the country via Islamic terror groups.
...
In the affidavit, Yee spoke of going to the island of Mindanao, which he described as “a war zone,” and shooting weapons there similar to the ones he was attempting to deal. Yee later claimed the rebels were being financed by Mummar Gaddafi before that Libyan dictator’s death and were well-supplied.
...
As an Assemblyman, Yee helped to co-author the state’s controversial Microstamping law that required new semi-automatic handguns to be equipped with ballistics identification technology. This law, now in effect by a determination from the state Attorney General, is causing handgun manufacturers to drop products off of the state’s list of approved firearms due to issues with the technology, and in turn is facing a lawsuit in federal court.

In 2006, Yee was named to the Gun Violence Prevention Honor Roll by the Brady Campaign for his work on gun control issues. This included increased record keeping, efforts to ban classes of firearms over cosmetic traits, and others.

This kind of hypocrisy exists on both sides of the political spectrum.

True, but it hardly receives the same amount of coverage.

Upon reflection, I don't think I should agree that there is equal hypocrisy. When looking at politicians who want to regulate individual activity, it is not equal. Some Republicans want to prevent my ability to have an abortion but Democrats want to regulate much more: weapon purchasing and ownership, healthcare options, the value of an hours worth of work, not to mention the less direct approach of regulation via agencies such as the EPA, BATFE, and the DOJ how states enforce their own laws regarding marriage.
So, because of the unbalanced approach of asserting influence over individuals lives, I can't say the hypocrisy is equal on both sides.

Preach it bruddha! In no fashion is the hypocrisy of this even remotely equal.

But, that is the playbook the progressives are using. The GOPs problem is they let them get away with it.

Hit back. Harder. Constantly. This isn't front page news? Let's help it become so.

No. Not equal at all. "The News" will over report anything, even rumor, on one side (See: Diane Sawyer interviewing Chris Christie.) but ignore to the point of coverup on the other side. Also, one side tends to resign their post if there is wrong doing, the other side tends to dig in, circle the wagons and protect their guy so he/she can carry on with said position.

Delicious, this! I just saw the gunrunning part on Breitbart and was on the way to the original post to update it. Thanks for posting! I guessed that if this happened to any Republican that NBC "News" article would have mentioned his political affiliation in the title. Breitbart makes my point for me as they point out Politico (a wholly owned subsidiary of the DNC) failed to mention the gunrunning aspect yet... "This is the same Politico that managed to publish 90 separate stories on the Herman Cain sexual harassment scandal when it broke – within six days."

Funny how that works with the "news".
