As portable speakers go there is not a lot going on in terms of cutting edge design. You´ve got pill speakers or squared off ones, and the funkiest you will get is probably the Jawbone Jambox. So how about a portable that shakes the tree a lot in terms of aesthetics and also offers a back to roots sound system.

The Loudbasstard Bamboo Amplifier and Speaker ($40) looks amazing and uses passive sound technology to naturally produce an amplified sound coming from the standard device speaker. Each speaker is hand cut and organically treated and will make a fantastic ornament as well as a groovy sound system.
