This information is coming from an FCC commissioner, it is not rumor or the floating of an idea. This starts in South Carolina in April.
It IS a big deal, especially considering the numerous legal/constitutional problems of this administration. For the record, it would be just as bad if done by a Republican controlled FCC but at least journalists would treat this as actual news then.

What, it's not enough that almost every big-city newsroom cheerleads for Obama, now he wants to regulate it, too? I want to know what happened to the people of my generation who were so worried about sXXt like this. They screamed about strip mining but don't give a crap how China gets the minerals to make solar panels. They screamed about mercury but it doesn't seem to matter a bit that a hazmat team has to be called out if somebody breaks a CF lightbulb. Now, it's OK to have state run news as long as it's not the evil Republican running it? How do these people justify this stuff with any level of intellectual honesty? Where did all that healthy distrust of government evaporate to? I feel sick.
