Chances are you have heard this phrase but many people do not know the original source. The line (or one similar to it) was originally written by B. Traven in his novel The Treasure of the Sierra Madre in 1927. The line was popularized by the 1948 film adaptation of the novel that starred Humphrey Bogart. The clip above is from that film. Since then, it has been parodied by The Monkees, Blazing Saddles, Friends, Weird Al Yankovic and many more.

This is one of my all time favorite films. From a time when the scripts and the acting trumped special effects. The fight scene in the bar is more real appearing and sounding than pretty much any modern movie fight scene.
