The Last American Man by Elizabeth Gilbert. This book is enthralling... mainly because of it's blinding transparency of a man and his struggles whist himself. Elizabeth Gilbert's biographical memoir of Eustice Conway, is a collision of one man's draconian ideology and the reality of this American life. Conway is a smart, disciplined and adventuresome man who has lived off the land for most of his adult life and by sheer force of will has carved a name for himself as a daring adventurer, enlightened educator and environmental ambassador. This is one of my favorite reads of this decade, as well as a story that encouraged me through my own TentLife adventure.

I know they wanted name recognition, but the publisher really should have put the author's name below the title. This way it looks like "Elizabeth Gilbert: The Last American Man." She needs a shave.
