This is the result of the bureaucratic mentality so strongly advocated by the current administration. Common sense and thinking are not required and it's nobody's fault, really. "I'm just applying the zero-tolerance rules given to me by the agencies put in place by your legally elected representatives to circumvent the need to pass a law by the light of day."
The "fourth branch" of government is by far the most disturbing. An agency should not be able to regulate and adjudicate all within their own organization. Somewhere there needs to be a direct connection between the agency and the voting (tax funding) public....(My opinion) The garbage like this has to be stopped.
I would like to think there will be backlash, but I fear that "we" are to culturally ignorant and lazy. Unfortunately, I think you are correct; a lot more people will have to hurt a lot worse.
"The DNR admitted that the language for the declaratory ruling came from the pork industry and that they created a broad definition that effectively targeted the heritage breeds of pig being raised on family farms."
Someone should've been fired over this. The real outrage is that corporate interests are the ones deciding these definitions in the first place.
Is there not a petition we can sign or some crates of pork that we can throw into the bay? I mean tea...tea... (And no I'm not apart of a tea party movement, I'm apart of the give America back to the people movement).

What is it going to take before the people demand the return of America to its citizens? An awful lot more, I'm afraid.
