I recently bought a standard wood stock, blued barrel, 10/22 and immediately put it in my safe. It will be my daughter's first firearm when she is old enough to learn and carry the responsibility of our 2nd Amendment right. The 10/22 is an American classic at this point, no denying it.
I love the look and feel of the 10/22; it IS a classic. But, why wait with your daughter? Get her started with a single shot such as the Crickett .22. I may have looked like a gorilla holding a ukulele, but I had a great time shooting one.

I like the overall design. At the same time, you've got to admit the flash-suppressor is borderline ridiculous.
