I'm thinking about seeing if this could help me get some sleep. My wife keeps waking up because I snore so loudly or I stop breathing, which freaks her out. For me, I'm just tired all the time (in case my posts at Gentlemint don't make any sense). I borrowed a CPAP once to see if it would help and hated it.
Fear not. Both your tacks and comments are some of the more relevant and enjoyable here. I struggle when I must go without enough sleep. You have my sympathy in that regard. Unfortunately I have no advice to offer. I know that sleep apnea can be common in segments of the powerlifting community. If, in my reading, I should happen upon something helpful (that is not a cpap machine) I will pass it along.
So, I didn't find much beyond the cpap. However some individuals recommended getting a "sleep test" done by an ENT Dr. Appearently the problem comes from throat structure or a massive/muscular neck (linemen, SHW lifters, etc). The sleep test tells you your oxygen levels while you sleep, how many times per hour that you wake, etc. This might be old information for you but I do hope you are able to resolve this. Heart attacks are a possibility from severe enough cases. Best of luck to you going forward here. Sorry I didn't find anything more helpful.
