With the speed of innovation in the tech industry, we can’t know every piece of technology that will fill our everyday lives in five years, but we can predict what will leave it. As smartphones begin to render low-end cameras obsolete, and Netflix continues to upend the DVD and Blu-ray market, it’s clear the technology landscape will look dramatically different in the near future.

I predicted to my wife just last week the demise of the in car GPS navigation system ala Tom Tom and Garmin. My phone does it better...

Great points. I would swap Blu-rays for fax machines in this list; they may stick around, but simply because I hate fax machines I hope they go away. I hate when someone asks for fax. Anyway- Blu-rays have too high of quality to stream on a broad scale. As this article mentioned, lots of people are still on dial-up.
