How about a work truck for under $15K. You know, for people who work and use a truck. I'd like that. Something with rubber floors, manual everything especially the trans. The only option I'd like is A/C. I don't really even care about a radio. But give me something that can carry a load, tow a big trailer, and shrug it off.
Great idea, but you won't see that in USA anytime soon, added costs of UAW makes production of cheaper vehicles less profitable, since UAW costs are higher percentage of overall vehicle cost than for more expensive vehicles, and you have to pay 25% "Chicken tax" when importing light trucks to USA.

This might be crazy enough to work. Look at the number of Chevy Avalanche's and Honda pickups running around.

i'd buy one, assuming that 4wd would still be available and would still have decent ground clearance. a diesel would be nice.
i don't know that this concept would be good for a heavy work truck, but for a 1/2 ton to run around town or light chores it would work.
