It's all about marketing to suckers. Just like this article, there are countless other groups that offer to "certify" your business as being "green" (for a fee of course) then you can advertize that your business is "green certified" and droves of sucks will flock to your product.
Wow, I was hoping this would be an Onion article. People should hopefully know enough about the food they eat to avoid this. I'm sure they'll wrangle a few suckers though.
