I will personally always be a fan of albums from artists I enjoy because it is usually the tracks that are not commercially released that are the best. However, this article does make a good point for the industry in general.

Yeah, don't know how I feel about it. All I know is that it's different.

I think of those albums I put on and they stay one for at least a couple of weeks and those tiny songs like the Kinks' Oklahoma USA. Also the hits that were and are great but we've heard them since we were 14, so yep the rare gems that don't make it to whatever the popular outlet is. One thing that gives me hope is that kids now days seem to actually like their parents music. Maybe they'll be led back to the long play.
