Sounds to me like he was in deep trouble with his wife, brought her some jewelry to apologize but she was so angry she cut him down with a sword. Not much has changed over the years. :-)

Nah, just been married for over 25 years. I have learned how to avoid this type of trouble. Rule #1 - Don't marry a warrior princess.
