"Democrats have caused a government shutdown to force millions of Americans into a program they won't accept for themselves."
Bullshit. While I'm no fan of either party, the (Democratic) Senate passed a clean bill, while the (Republican) House is trying to tack on legislation to theirs. At this point, they're letting their dislike of a policy get in the way of doing their jobs. If the Republicans don't like Obamacare they should try to repeal it (which they have tried to do more than 30 times since it's introduction), not hold the US hostage over it.
No such thing as a "clean bill" in either house. For a reference, Obamacare has 897 documents at over 20,000 pages and many amendments and revisions make that nowhere near clean itself. Last year's Federal budget was 2,403 pages long and those are never clean bills.
Considering even Pelosi said pass it so we can read it, this was not a clean bill. This is a monstrosity that is going to be a disaster for our country, the sad thing is it is already driving premiums up right now. The options so far reported from people that have signed up are that the plans offered are very pricey, not affordable at all. Basically, bravo to congressman who do what they say, people like Cruz, CAMPAIGNED on the promise to do everything they can to defund or repeal the law. They are doing exactly what they were elected to do... Hooray for consistency.
Let's see, he didn't have insurance before, now he does, (though he could've paid less for it before ACA). The key here is that he has insurance now, so when he has emergency treatment, it won't be to the tune of thousands of dollars picked up by TAXPAYERS!

Not so "affordable". Ask this guy. He is makes $11,500/years. When he enrolled in Obamacare, his monthly rate is $175.

Then why didn't he pay for before? Especially since it would have been cheaper?
