I've been going to a lot of parties recently for graduations, seeing friends off to college or basic training and this is great as a general rule. Showing up empty handed makes me feel like a free loader. For some reason many men, especially younger men, don't like to follow this rule.

My Grandfather taught me, "When you're invited to someone's house, you should always knock with your foot." Meaning: your hands should be full. I've always tried to live by this.
