redfox, you might be the first person I've seen who actually liked it! I haven't tried it yet, but it's mainly due to the negative reviews I've seen. Interesting that you liked it... I may have to give it a shot!
While I was living in Oregon I was a frequent visitor to Voodoo. The maple bacon doughnut is a must-have, this ale was a must-try for me. It really did taste like their maple bacon doughnut, the brewers at Rogue Brewery are outstanding and make some delicious brews, I for one would just rather be biting into a tasty doughnut.
I would love to taste the doughnut myself. Unfortunately I was in a car accident some years back and suffered a head injury. This injury caused some nerve damage and now I have no sense of smell. This beer is one of the few things I've had in years that brings back the joy of smelling. A lot of people hate this ale, I'm a fan.
