nice thought, wonder if they remember that churches built the only hospitals for hundreds of years.

And as public institutions, hospitals eventually became less connected to clergy through a secular concept known as "progress". ;)

The monument implies that people of faith like poverty, disease and death. How shallow-minded, unenlightened and ignorant.

As a Christian I believe in all of those things.

What drives me crazy about atheists is they claim Christians don't value those things too and want everyone to be convinced of their lies about them. Seems like their position is more based on hate and lies rather than truth.

It makes me wonder, how many people could have been helped by the money wasted on all of these court cases around the country?

I would ask why an atheist is compelled to believe/want the things listed on the monument if there is no God. Where does their moral conviction come from? Are all atheist bound in the beliefs listed on the monument? The monument is particularly ridiculous when Christianity is defined as not only knowing/believing in Christ but actively striving to live in his example. Meaning a true Christian desires better for people than what's inscribed on the monument. While an atheist is someone denies the existence of God/gods. Meaning a sociopath can even fit the atheist definition.
