Part of being prepared involves being spiritually and mentally prepared. If you not have peace now, how will you deal with things when it hits the fan? We can not will our self to have peace any more than a branch can will it's self to produce a grape. The branch only needs to stay connected to the vine to produce grapes. Likewise we only need to spend time in God's word to produce peace inside.
