Our product is made of plastic and it is comprised of three components, a liner, a tailpiece and a base. The top (football) is a bowl-shaped receptacle, connected to a pipe, which feeds into a 3 gallon plastic base. The base has a screw top, so one simply caps off the bottom container for disposal when convenient.
