Also, learn to read a map and topography. When I was in the military, I had to explain to a Harvard student in my squad that although he did find our direction of travel with the compass perfectly, that the failed to route our travel around steep hills and ravines. Think smarter, not harder. Oh and I went to a state college ;-)
