Really interesting read, not really all that much about politics and more about the behind-the-scenes world of a late night band leader.

Great Article. Great Show. Great Band. I love the roots. I don't agree politically where they (or at least HE) stands, but I have respect for them and what they've done. They're a great piece of American culture. It is good to read this and to understand his side of what happened. Clearly he did it maliciously. Clearly he did it to be mean and to make a statement against her. But at least he acknowledges he made a mistake (except for a misleading title where he blames Michelle Bachmann for almost getting him fired). I both lost and gained respect for the Roots today. Overall, I feel better about them now than I did before reading the article.

Yeah, I guess I really just thought the interesting part was less about the politica motive, and more about the lengths they go to find the right music for the guest.
You're right though... it was a pretty low blow. At the very least, it was something that put his employer at risk, and should have thought about that.

The article was interesting, but I did think it was a disrespectful move no matter your politics. She was a guest and should have been treated as such.

Absolutely. It was a pretty low blow. That said, if she wanted respect she probably shouldn't have gone into politics ;)
