Another language learning program I recommend is LiveMocha. Its also online and free. They have a huge variety of different languages and is community based. Since its community based, the functioning of the site requires you to contribute to the learning of others who are learning your host language. You can grade assignments and give input, chat with pupils for practice and these things are also available to you in your own learning experience. I was very interested in Rosetta Stone but European Portuguese is not available. My friend who lived in Brazil recommended this site to me after she used it to learn Brazilian Portuguese, saying that its free and some of the techniques are the same and its just as good to learn by. While using this program, I have received a lot of motivation and encouragement from other members who I requested to grade my own assignments.
