Spyderco Delica4 FRN Foliage Green
OK, we've seen my "big" Manix 2 to fill the 4" category and the little Dragonfly 2 for the 2" pocket knife but what goes in-between? For now I have this Delica 4 to take up the 3" spot. These knives have actual cutting lengths of 1.875", 2.563" and 2.875" but you'd swear the Manix 2 is bigger; that is one full-sized knife!
The size and weight of the Delica 4 make it an "invisible" pocket clip knife (or a pocket knife if you are 6'8" like Youtube's Hickok45) and it would be perfect if it had the choil I find so appealing. Maybe that will come on the Delica 5. While there are other models that have the choil they all sport the wider-framed G-10 grip style and, for now, I wanted something that I wouldn't feel while sitting down, clipped in either the front or rear pocket. The Delica 4 certainly does the trick and comes with that nice VG-10 blade steel!
I had thought of myself as a minimalist who could stick to these basic sizes but who am I kidding? I'll probably end up buying seven more Spyderco models, just so I feel like I've taken care of the basics. Sage 2, Military, Endura 4, Stretch, Caly 3.5, more Dragonflies. Crikey, where does it end? Hey, you can certainly have much more expensive hobbies!
