Longstreet was really one of the more fascinating individuals in the War Between the States. I read a biography of him some time back, but I can't remember the title or author. Longstreet's story is quite remarkable and I urge anyone who stumbled into this post to read about him, or look at his wikipedia page at least: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Longstreet">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Longstreet
His path in the war was nearly the exact opposite of U.S. Grant: Longstreet started as a Major General in the Eastern theater, and gained praise and commendations for his masterful command. However, he fell out of grace and was ordered to the Western theater where he would finish the war.
