Whenever "we" say that some stance "will lead to" some extreme result the Left just laughs at us, "Oh, THAT will never happen. You're all just barking at the moon." Well, here is the result of starting off down that road. It was inevitable we would reach this point, even though "they" mocked us for warning this would happen.
