Fools! This is to make the lives of the TSA staff easier.... while making the skies more dangerous. Did they forget that 9/11 accomplished with a box cutter?!

@KyleSmith, while your point is true, many advancements have been made ion the overall security protocall for airlines, pilots, flight atandants, TSA and passangers. i.e., pilots now have lockboxes with handguns, and do not open the cockpit for anyreason during flight. Flight attandants are now trained to look for and respond much earlier to proposed threats. Plus, this article states that this is and attempt "to bring U.S. regulations more in line with International Civil Aviation Organization standards and would also help provide a better experience for travelers."
I'm not saying it proposes less danger to all involved, but I will say that I hate giving up my tactical advantage in any situation.

I had the same thoughts as rku2ig on this. Many of the regulations and laws we have passed since that day have made me shake my head. Every time I go through security at an airport I think how sad it is that we have had to give up so much of our freedom just so the majority of us can feel some sense of safety. As I take off my shoes and turn over my can of shaving cream before they pat me down, I think "Wow! They won"

I don't understand how anyone on this site would be opposed to this idea. I carry a pocket knife with me most everywhere, as any man should. Damn useful things. The notoriously inept and bungling TSA agents finally begin to collectively unclench their assholes and it's somehow a bad thing?
