From http://www.kardiel.com/blogs/the-ball-chair/">http://www.kardiel.com/blogs/the-ball-chair/ "Eero Aarnio designed the ball chair in 1963. For obvious reasons the ball chair is often referred to as the globe chair. It has been featured in popular magazines and film throughout the years. Remember the retro round chair in the movie Men In Black? That was an ball chair reproduction. Other shows are Moon Zero Two (British) and The Prisoner. Originally the chair was available with red cloth interior with a white acrylic chair. Now there are many colors of both the cloth interior and the acrylic shell. Eero is Finnish and thus the chair is said to be a “Finnish” design. It does not fit into what many would consider Finnish design however. It is anything but thin square, minimalist and sleek. It carries a great Modern Mid Classic appearance with a period retro design. It is considered a classic of industrial design." Yeah, it's a damned cool chair.
