"Escher's Stairway" - This handcrafted wood pen features double spirals tumbling into blackness in radiant woods and an exquisite setting. This is a beautiful, rare and special pen made for a special person. ;D

The unusual and intricate spirals were created in a multi-day process, with pine and black walnut stairs centered around deep black ebony wood. Each spiral was then set in a single, divided block of rich bubinga wood with the grain carefully re-aligned. These were then shaped and sanded by hand on a lathe up to 10k grit. A thin coat of 100% pure tung oil brought out the rich beauty of the various wood grains before a 9-layer coat of durable cyanoacrylate finish was applied to keep it looking great for years to come.

The wood was then buffed to a high gloss and set in the stunning 22k gold and rhodium setting with a Swarovski crystal in the rhodium -plated clip. Accent rings and bands feature carved 3-dimensional designs. The components were cast, polished and plated with a durable 22k gold plating accented in brilliant rhodium. The ceramic point rollerball assembly has a rhodium plated nib around a premium Schmidt steel cartridge ink refill. And since Schmidt refills are available in most office supply stores, this handcrafted wood pen will be cherished for many years.
