First manufactured in 1891 and changed little since. Rotating face and spool, secured with a left hand threaded screw. Mine is, like this one, left handed, in 3 1/8". Made as small as 2 7/8" and over 4" for salmon, and is not reversible - it must be manufactured for the hand intended. This is not the lightest fly reel made, does not have the strongest drag, is not the least (nor most) expensive, and is not the newest thing. Yet it is today, as it was 121 years ago, Perfect.
