Amazon has just updated their flagship e-Reader, the Kindle Paperwhite to have twice as much pixel density (150 ppi to 300 ppi), which is the highest resolution on the market. The text is much crisper than competitors because of this. Amazon has also gone to the labs and created a new default font "Bookerly" to help with eyestrain for reading over longer periods of time.

With the new Paperwhite there's no screen glare, even in the sunlight, when you're reading. This is different than most tablets which have a glossy screen. Glossy screens are great for browsing the web or watching movies, but not ideal for reading. The Paperwhite solves this problem nicely. While it's backlit, the lack of gloss or glare helps keep your eyes fresh while reading, especially over long periods of time.

The battery will last for weeks at a time, not hours like a tablet. Amazon claims that if you read your Kindle for an average of 30 minutes a day, the charge will last for 6 weeks.
