I used to play a sophomoric prank in hotels: go around with our room’s remote control and turn off the other room’s TVs through the windows.

The TV-B-Gone Kit is the equivalent of a universal TV kill switch, but with the added fun element of needing to solder the kit together for it to work. Turn off any TV in the line of sight of the contraption, no matter the TV manufacturer.

Is this a product you need? Nope. Useful? Not really. But it’s still a lot of fun to make, and probably more fun to use.
