To the naked eye, Hudsalve is a fairly boring product: a universal balm. But in reality it's a miracle salve that can heal wounds and cuts, ward off mosquitoes, and grease weapons.
Developed in the 1900's by the Swedish military, the salve started out as a blister healer for soldier's feet. Soon other uses were discovered. The Hudsalve product page on Amazon says that aside from healing cuts and soothing skin, people have used Hudsalve as:
- Frying oil for camping
- Mosquito repellants
- Leather boot conditioner
- Hair pomade
This is the Swiss army knife of balms, and a great option to have around.
