Phelp's Celebration: Excessive?

I find Michael Phelps to be extremely fascinating, and I love watching the guy compete. He's truly unbelievable; a once in a generation (lifetime?) competitor.
But I found myself a little put off by his excessive celebrations after the 200m butterfly finals that he took gold in last night. Am I overreacting? Did anyone else feel this way? Here's a video of the celebration. (Scroll down a bit on the story to see the actual footage)

And then there's always this...
