It's all about the "cruise control" baby. Leave the GSXr's for the insecure :)

Just needs a milk crate thrown on the back and it'd be the perfect runabout for town. It kind of bums me out people don't keep more of these original. It has to be converted into a "cafe racer"....

@Nick: What exactly makes it a "cafe racer"? I think I was under the impression that this was one and it was just this style of motorcycle. What would be done to this to make it one?

I would consider this a Universal Japanese Motorcycle or UJM. They were all sort of British bike knockoffs. This sort of bike is commonly modified into the "cafe racer" look. That might include putting different lower handle bars on it, losing the fenders, and converting the seat to a solo. It really is just a style thing, but it does have some historical origins. Take a look at these two wikipedia links for a good summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Japanese_motorcycle">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Japanese_motorcycle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caf%C3%A9_racer">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caf%C3%A9_racer

Cool. Thanks for that. I much prefer the UJM design and would love to own one some day, so this is definitely good information to know.
