The content of this article nearly prompted me to lapse into ferocious profanity, but I will refrain. Its reality disheartens me.

Disheartening accurately sums up my feelings as well. Take this quote:
"The biggest single step in the right direction does not involve faculty or university administrators, but rather the federal government, which should release universities from their fear of unreasonable investigation and sanctions by the Department of Education."
This is disheartening because it will not happen. Most likely the DOE will increase its efforts in these cases.

Modern day higher learning: We shall not tolerate intolerance!!!

I get the intent of the micro-aggression idea in the day of it's inception but it has been taken to a dangerous extreme. The worst, in my opinion, is the individual who is offended by something because they believe someone else may be offended. I have very ungentlemanly thoughts regarding such people.

Spot on. As a parent, in modern society, it is a constant struggle to help your children to really learn to think, and not take everything from the web, and school as the way things ought to be.
The people that really need to read this however most likely wont.

This is just about as close as you can get to a universal truth.
